Time of light

12 Oct
In the night
all the starlight lights our bedroom.
Six thousand years
to lie upon your elbow,
amplifying the darkness.

Morning time.
Birdsong lifts our tired volume.
Ancient times,
four periods in refinement
coming now to grace our coffee.

In the eve
short sunlight scatters round you
across the porch.
Well you are glowing, you look lovely.
I take your fingers and sing

"In my life
I was tired then I found you
to walk beside.
I am complete, I am broken,
I am all the light in the sky."

In the night
all the starlight lights our bedroom.
Six thousand years
to lie upon your elbow
to amplify all of the light.
