Lilacs

If I cleaned my gutters out
I wouldn't think about
Violet flame.
Flowers drink rain.
So I wouldn't say lilacs 
Are hydroponically hard to maintain.

I'll know my fire went out
If I eye that bathroom grout
and feel ok.
There's no way
I'll get to it.
Nothing you can't clean with spit.

So long TV static sound.
You'd turn it up because you'd found
You'd feel ok.
Feeling frayed,
Another stage,
just treading common ground.
